History of Argonauts Tree Service

We have over 38 years experience in the tree service industry in the Central Coast, Hunter and Sydney regions. With a strong past our history has been filled with many happy customers.

From The Beginning

Argonauts Tree Service began back in 1986 when Peter Webber registered “The Argonauts Tree & Timber Service” and opened operations from his home depot in Saratoga .

With wife Vicky by his side running the administrations, the company grew rapidly to be the largest tree company on the Central Coast, along with Peter’s reputation of being the most skilled arborist in town.

Peters love for the tree industry saw him becoming a finalist in 2003 and winner in 2004 Community Business Award.  Argonauts mission statement at the time was to “provide top quality work at a price that ensured repeat work and referrals. To lift the quality of tree work within the industry, and provide a service where workmanship, work ethics, and safety are at the highest priority:”

Over the next few years the company grew to 6 full time staff, with many of the companies arborist being trained by Peter himself. .

The fleet of plant and equipment experienced substantial growth. It included 2 Vermeer 18-inch chippers and 4WD tip trucks, along with the company’s 7-ton all-terrain citi crane. This expansion marked a turning point for Argonauts. They transitioned from exclusively handling domestic tree work on the Central Coast to engaging in diverse projects. This encompassed their involvement with esteemed organizations such as the Roads & Transport Authorities, State Rail, and The Department of Education, not to mention Energy Australia. Furthermore, they emerged as a significant contractor for both Wyong & Gosford Councils.

In February 2005 Peter & Vicky Webber decided to retire and spend more time with their family and sold the thriving business to current owner Paul & Kathy Blamey.

The New History

Paul’s vision was to expand the businesses market even further throughout the Central Coast and into the Hunter regions and did so by employing more staff and moving the business to its current location in Lake Road Tuggerah.

From this new larger location, Paul’s vision truly came into fruition. New contracts with Ausgrid, Broadspectrum and Lendlease, local councils and performing a large part of the BER (Department Of Education’s schools program tree work) saw the company expand its fleet of plant and equipment even further. The fleet has grown to 3 wood chippers, 6 trucks, emergency response equipment trucks and utes and Bandit 2550 remote control stump grinder, 7 ton Citi Crane and much more.

The company is continuing to grow each year and Paul is looking forward into expanding into the future.
